Usage Tips

  • Start with a Clean Space: Ensure your fireplace, stove, or BBQ is clean and free from ash or debris before placing the firelighter.
  • Positioning: Place the firelighter at the base of your fire setup, ideally in the centre for even heat distribution.
  • Use Kindling: Surround the firelighter with kindling or smaller pieces of wood, leaving enough space for airflow.
  • Light the Firelighter: Use a long match or lighter to ignite the firelighter, ensuring you light it at multiple points for a quicker and more even burn.
  • Add Larger Logs: Once the kindling catches fire, gradually add larger seasoned logs, making sure not to smother the firelighter or kindling.
  • Control Airflow: Adjust the air vents on your stove, fireplace, or BBQ to control the oxygen supply, which will help in efficient burning.
  • Safety First: Always keep firelighters away from children and pets, and store them in a cool, dry place.
  • Don’t Rush: Allow the firelighter to fully ignite the surrounding wood or charcoal before adding more fuel to the fire.
  • Check Expiry: Although firelighters have a long shelf life, it’s good to check the expiry date for optimal performance.
